That may be where my trouble was. I had that command in the last clip of each playlist, but it was a Pre Command instead of Post.
I'll see what that does.

It makes no difference if Pre or Post in the last clip - the reg is rest to "0"
The only problem that can occur is if the user returns to the menu within a sequence of clips and then chooses a single clip to play thats part of the same sequence. Then the play list will continue!
So best put it as a the first Pre command in VTSM_PGCI_UT / PGC_MENU1 (ROOT)
If you didn't already change the commands there to Compare and Link, you'll have to edit the line jumps instead. -

I'm sorry for the questions, but this is the first time I've tried this part.
Thanks.

Ok forget the above and- do this:
Insert this as the first command in to Menu_2
Set GPreg<1> mov (set val) <0>
That should do it once and for All ...
cheers

(he, I just got (set val) <100>)

Thanks maa,
I'll try that. I was wondering why menu 2 though. My playlists starts on menu 6. Also, is this a Pre or Post Command or does it matter? Thanks again.
Mythos -
Menu 2 is the ROOT menu you made in DVDLab
If your clips return to that then thats where you want this first pre command. If not then put it in which ever menu your clips are started from. Really it should be in IfoEdits Root menu (1) but you mess up the "goto line" numbering by putting it there. -
Okay. That makes sense. I put the command in to turn the playlist off on each of the clips menus that I want to be playlists as well as the last clip in each playlist. I'm burning an RW now and will let you know what happens.
I did the same last night, but I forgot I tried to insert commands into the Root Menu. My RW was jumping to different menus than it was supposed to, so I see what happens when the jump lines get messed up. I never did anything with the added commands either, so they were NOP. Luckily, I backed up my IFO so I wouldn't have to recompile.
I think it is just about solved.

Well, I've been having problems with some of the menu links locking up. Should I take out the Set GPreg<11> commands on those menus where I insert the Set GPreg <1>=0?
Thanks
Mythos -
Well, I tried it again with taking the Set GPreg <11> commands out of the playlist menus and substituted them for the Set GPreg <1>=0. The result is that it works except for the wrong menu is pulled up afterwards. It doesn't matter if you use Play All or choose individual clips.
I'm going to use my backed up IFO file and leave the GPreg <11> commands alone on the playlist menus and insert the Set GPreg <1>=0 commands as you instructed.
I found out what the earlier problem with lockups was. Silly me was using the wrong IFO file. While I'm working I save the IFO file several times in a different place so I don't have to recompile if I mess it up. I grabbed the wrong one when I burned the RW.
I'll let you know how it turns out. This should just about wrap it up finally.
Mythos -
You only need to switch GPreg 1 off once !
It should be the first pre command in the menu where the buttons are to sart the Play List - nowhere else !
The only place where you don't need GPreg <11> is in the dummy menus. -
Okay. I only have the Set GPreg <1>=0 on the menus with the clips. I didn't do it on the the last clip in each playlist like I did before. I'll restore the backup IFO and insert the Set GPreg <1>=0 on the clip menus and leave the Set GPreg <11>=..... alone.
Thanks.

Well, I did as I described above and 6 of my menus are inaccessable. I don' t know what is happening. The only thing I did was insert the Set GPreg <1>=0 commands into the menus with the clips. This is very frustrating.
Does it matter if the Playlists are not in order? i.e. Playlist 2=clips 13-21, but Playlist 5=clips 10-12. That is the way the DVD-Lab Project came out.
The Playlists that work are 1 (movies 1-7), 2 (movies 13-21), 3 (movies 27-31), and 4 (slideshows 37-48 ). The ones that don't work are Playlist 5 (movies 10-12), 6 (movies 24-26), 7 (movies 34-36), 8 (slideshows 49-56), and 9 (slideshows 57-64). They all worked before I inserted the Set GPreg <1>=0 on the menus with the clips to be included in the Playlist except for the wrong menu was called up after the Playlist finished.
Here is how the Playlists are referenced. The first column is the menu with the clips and the second is the dummy Playlist menu that refers to it.
Menu 6 Menu 15
Menu 7 Menu 16
Menu 8 Menu 17
Menu 9 Menu 18
Menu 10 Menu 19
Menu 11 Menu 20
Menu 12 Menu 21
Menu 13 Menu 22
Menu 14 Menu 23
Menus 1 (Root) through 5 were untouched. Also movies 8, 9, 22, 23, 32, 33 were also untouched as they are not part of a Playlist. Also, slideshows 65-94 are untouched because they are just dummys. They also have nothing linking to them in DVD-Lab.
Would it be possible to send you my IFO file to see what you think? If so, let me know if you need additional information from me.
Thanks

I'm still working on it a little. Through reading on some other forums, I found a great little tool called Mark's DVDTray Player which lets me preview the IFO files without having to take time to burn a test RW. I still haven't found the problem yet, but this tool makes things a lot easier. I just installed it about an hour ago.
BTW: I was better able to test the IFO file you I got from you a few days ago and it acts the same. The Play All feature doesn't turn off if you play an individual clip that was part of a previously played playlist. This tool is great WinDVD was no help for me unless I used a disc.
Thanks.

Yes it is good - have you seen the dialog which shows what GPregs are active ? Did you replace the IFO for the demo I sent ? (read above)
-
Yes, I replaced the demo IFO and it worked properly.
Well, I am glad to report that I am finally finished with this. Setting the GPreg to 0 with a Pre Command in the last clip of the Playlist was the correct answer. It probably didn't work for me before because I probably mistakenly used a Post Command.
I also believe your method of setting the GPreg to 0 in the menus where the Playlists are would have worked if I didn't have so many menus. I needed the Playlists to be turned off in Menus 6-14. I had no problem when I added the Pre Command to turn off the Playlists in Menus 6-9. However, IFO Edit did not like it when I tried to insert those commands in Menus 10-14. In fact, those were the Playlist Menus that were inaccessable in my previous tests. For a small test, I just added a Pre Command of Set GPreg <1>=0 to menu 10 and that menu became inaccessable. It would work if I overwrote the DVD-Lab Set GPreg <11> command, but then I would be taken back to the wrong menu after the Playlist finished.
You are also correct about the dummy menus. You can safely overwrite those Set GPreg <11> commands with whatever numbers you want your Playlists to be without negative effect. i.e. Set GPreg <11> mov (set-val) <9> being turned into Set GPreg <1> mov (set-val) <1> has no negative affect as long as it is a dummy menu or a menu before the Menu 10. Hopefully, the next IFO Edit version won't be as picky about that.
Some of the information I'm posting below is for others who may be stuck and stumble upon this thread.
To sum up what I wanted. I wanted to have nine Play All or Playlist buttons. I wanted all the clips in a playlist to immediately begin playing when I hit the Play All button and then return to the menu they are linked to when completed. I also wanted to be able to pick just one clip and have it play and return to the menu where it is linked to. The problem I was having was that if I chose an individual clip from a Playlist that just finished playing, it wouldn't return to the menu as it was supposed to when it finished. Instead it would go on to the next clip in the Playlist like the Playlist wasn't turned off.
NOTE: I only have these clips once on the disc and they are all separate. I didn't have to these clips twice on the disc (once as one movie and once as individual clips as others in other forums have suggested), although that is one way to do it.
Anyway, that about wraps that up. I thank you for all of your help and patience while I was working on this project. I really did dive in deep on this one.
Thanks.
