Use ReJig. It can take any number of VOBs and extract (and shrink) the video to one m2v. You can also extract the audio tracks to one file. Then author in ifoEdit. Very simple, and just freeware.

  3. The simplest way is with DVD Shrink. After opening the DVD, open a reauthor window, drag in the title, select the title, select start/end to select the chapter.

You can easily use this process to bring chapters from many DVDs together. You can even select parts of chapters rather than the whole chapter.

This is great for making selective burn DVDs from many concert DVDs so that you can have just the songs you want.

  4. I have try ReJib but everytime I add the VOB files it just drop dead and windows shut it down. I'm using a newly install Windows 2000 Pro with SP2.
I will now try DVD Shrink, Many Thanks.

  5. ReJig and DVD Shrink are the way to go. I think DVD Shrink is a little more user friendly, but either is good. Basically rip everything to the HD, choose re-author and use the start/stop to backup the points you want.

When you rip by chapter DVD Decrypter and Smartripper generate file names that won't be accepted by any "processing program. They need to be renamed to standard format,VTS_01_1.VOB,etc. You can only have nine vob's in set so you probably will need to "join clips" with VOBEDIT.
Finally you need to generate ifo files with IFOEDIT.
