FFMPEGX constantly messes up video/audio sync while converti

Whenever I attempt to convert an xvid or svcd to DVD in FFmpegx, I use the standard hi-bitrate dvd-ntsc quick preset. However, the completed file is ALWAYS out of sync. The a/v of the originals are flawless, and then in the converted copy the sync is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. I'm on a dual 2ghz g5 with 1.5 gigs ram if that's important. Thanks for the help in advance

Hrmm, i hadn't considered this before, but the sampling of the svcd is 44.1khz that im currently having trouble with, and trying to encode to 48khz because i was told that the sound had to be 48khz for the dvd to play...is this a cause of why im losing sync?
