I dont want to get intricate but i've got an AC3 audio file which is about 6 seconds too long for the video it is for and thus messes up the audio sync. I know that chopping off a few seconds of audio at the end of the track wont matter that much to me, but i cannot for the life of me find an audio editor that will accomodate me with this.
i've searched all over doom9 and this site but nothing seems to work for me.
i have windows 2000 sp3, 1gb ddr333 ram, athlon xp2200
please help me out here with some suggestions.
thanks

well DVD TOOL BOX (VITEK) has a ac3 editor , but its not cheap ...
you can use a an old trick of using winrar and splitting the file (no compression) -- as the ac3 file will still play fine ..
you can ftp the file from one directory to another and stop the ftp when its the right size.
you could ADD blank video to the end of your mpeg2 file (may be the easiest for you) .
You could convert to wave and edit and re-encode.
an audio file longer than the video file should not cause a unsync problem really -"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
hmmm never thought about adding blank video file in. any suggestions as to how to go about doing it? i suppose I could take some black blank file from the end of another movie and then just add it on with xmpeg.

or you could use VirtualDubMod, use a video the length of your desired ac3 length, mux the ac3 into it with the option set to trim the audio when the video finishes.
Then extract the audio back out
