  1. Actually, this a little refinement of another item I have recently posted. Since, reinstalling a new operating system/programs on my computer, the caputer device of my DVC 150 does not operate correctly for SVCDs. It only captures 48 kHz audio resolution, never 44.1.

I suspect it may be due to my only having the old driver supplied by DAZZLE. I have version 3.20. However, I think here was a version 3.40 posted on the DAZZLE website, which is probably what I had previously. The old DAZZLE website is gone.

Does anybody have that upgrade driver?

  3. Thanks for the links. Just to be sure are these for original DAZZLE software or for the Pinnacle?

  4. Hi,

as far as i know the links link to the original soft included with the dvc150, be careful, the lines have been split.
eg: dvc150v340.exe are the "pure" drivers.

Pinnacle has other links for dvc capable version of their studiosoft.

  5. Thanks much again. I downloaded the upgrade and installed it. Unfortunately, my "problem" continues. I cannot capture 44 kHz audio no matter where I set it. Actually, I get the impression that it is outputing something strange. In TMGenc the audio is recognized as 48 kHz, but the audio finishes before thevideo and is mickey mouse.

I reset the DVX to "48" kHz and then ran the captured file thru GraphEdit and included a resolution filter that outputs 44. That produced a good SVCD.

So, what I am saying is that if I set the DVX to 44, then the result is recognized as some sort of screwed-up 48. If I set hte DVX to 48, I really get 48, but can convert it to 44.

By the way, just for grins, I set the DVX to 32. The result was the same as setting it to 44.

  6. Hi,

as far as i know, the dazzle captures audio in LPCM format, the 48/44 switch is "for future use".
By the way : "multiplexing" 48 to 44 is what Moviestar does when it "renders" a (s)vcd.
I also prefer graphedit or other tools. Graphedit (the filewriter) quits working at 4GB.

  7. Again, thanks for the info. As it turns out, I see no difference with the new driver. I now leave that sampling rate button alone. If you choose something else, the results go into the toilet.

I also now realize that it doesn't matter if I use a 48 to 41 kHz sampling rate converter in GraphEdit or not. It appears that VCDEasy corrects the audio. I made the same SVCD twice. The first time, I first converted the audio to 41. In VCDEasy, I saw no error messages about the audio and got a perfect disc. I then remade it, this time not converting the audio to 41. VCDEasy, displayed a brief error message that the audio was at 48 and then went about doing what it does. The results were also perfect.
