Im not really sure where this post belongs but I thought this would be the right place. I pulled my Creative DXR3 card from another machine and plan on transplanting it into a AMD 1.2 XP machine with 512 megs of ram. I dont know too much about this card only that it is a hardware based mpeg2 decoder and it does TV out which my MSI K7N2G motherboard does already. My question is would this card be beneficial to me in burning DVD's or ripping etc. The Creative DVD player is toast, I have an Optorite DVD burner on order to replace my hosed Creative DVD player.

Creative DXR3 is an excellent hardware DVD player, but it will not help you on burning DVD's or ripping.

By the way, do not use creative drivers, use Real Magic Hollywood plus drivers.

The Hollywood + drivers are located in the REALmagic legacy products section.
