  1. I have been using NERO for some time to burn my VCDs, but during this time I have loaded some other software (shareware and freeware) to encode with. I was going to try and do it a different way. Whatever files they loaded when I installed them caused a problem with NERO. Now when I burn a VCD with NERO it burns all of the video but only the first part of the audio (20 to 30%). This was not happening untill I loaded the other software. It has taken weeks to figure out that loading the other software caused the problem I did that through a process of illimination. I have since uninstalled the software but the problem remains. I have also uninstalled NERO and reinstalled it but that did not solve the problem. Does anyone know which file(s) NERO uses to do its encoding of AVI files. Or, does anyone know what I could load that would over write the file thats causing the problem. I would like to go back to the way I was doing it to begin with before I had any problems. Trying to get information from NERO is almost impossible. I am using windows 2000 pro with 700+ mhz cpu and 350+ megs of ram.

Encode in TMPGEnc. Burn in VCD Easy. Nero is not great for VCD.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried encoding with TMPGEnc, but it takes hours and hours to do this. I'm a graphic artist and use my computer at least 12 hours a day to work on. I would really like to get back to where I was with NERO. A normal movie only takes 2 to 3 hours with NERO even though I'm sure the quality is not as good. I'm willing to give up the quality if I could only get back to where I was in the beginning with NERO. I've mostly been burning old movies and old tv shows and the quality is not all that good to begin with so I'm not really giving anything up with quality. I've been working on this problem for weeks and now it has become a conquest of mine to get back to where I was. If I only knew which program caused the problem I would tell everyone I could NOT to use that program, but I have no way of knowing. I bet I tried 8 or 10 different things trying to find something else to encode with. Now I wish I has just left things alone.

  4. Search your OS for "Ligos" codec,it might be the culprit.I installed a Sonic Program which uses the Ligos encoder and it slowed my other encoders and VideoStudio 6 to hang.
Remedy:Uninstall any authoring program from Sonic and search Explorer and delete all ligos files and folders.Regedit is trickier better not delete anything there.

    There's no way.

Ligos is the leader of all encoders and decoders. I'd rather have Ligos than anything else.

Sure you're not confusing this with the Cyberlink or Sony or Elecard.

    Forbid it be Elecard garbage.

  6. I didn't believe it also lordsmurf but is IS true,I tried everything and when I deleted the Ligos folders everthing returned to normal.
I'm not the only one that has problems with Ligos, search the database for "Ligos".
