I' ve been converting using tmpeg for a while but just got a new computer. Now when I try to convert an Mpeg-2(svcd) to dvd I cannot open the file. I keep getting "unsupported". I've installed all codecs(divx3,5, ffdshow,ac3, Windows media 9) Waht the heck am I doing wrong or what have I forgotten.

Did you install an MPEG2 codec? Free one in the tools section.

skasino,
I know this may sound funny, but give it a shot anyway.
I found that when trying to open files in TMPGEnc, if they're a bit too deeply buried then it won't open them, saying they are unsupported. Moving the file to the desktop will cure this.
Unlikely to be the source of your problems, but worth a shot.
Otherwise, you might want to try this method here:

Hope this helps

Try installing the mpeg2 plugin. https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=243#comments for TMPG.
