I have a bought a Dell 2.8, 512 DDR Dual Channel RAM, 120 SATA Hard Drive, DVD-ROM, Win XP, and a 64MB NVIDIA GeForce4MX with TV-Out and DVI

I also have bought a second 120GB SATA Hard Drive.

I am buying the Canopus ADVC-100

My question is about the following items...

I need a DVD burner: will I suffer if I get just "+RW" instead of both "-+"?
are there brands or specs I shoudl stay away from or pay attention to? Should my base system already include the necessary cables and cords or do I need to find a burner that has them?

Firewire: I need a firewire card. or there any specs I should be aware of? will any card work with XP?

Authoring: I have found DVD Burners for around $100-$120 that also include Ulead or some other software. Is this good enough for the authoring software that I need??? I have Adobe Premiere 6.5 so I don't need anything for editing but from what I have been told already need something for "authoring" although I still don't understand what the difference is and what it is exactly that Premiere can't do that this "authoring" software can.

These are the last 3 issues I need resolved. Thanx for any input. I have included a link below to the original post but it was so long and covered so much that I thought it easiest to scale it down to the relevant info of present time. But incase you want to go back over it https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=185818
