Hi
At the risk of being shot down for posting this, I will continue.
I have read an awful lot of tutorials tips and a mountain of software recommendations.
All I would like to do is back up my collection of bond DVD’s, but I would like to know if it is possible to compress just the movies so that I can get say 4 movies onto one DVD disk?
I am new to the DVD writer world and its programs.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers.
Mabos.

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE .....maybe
Go here and see why it is a silly idea.

2 movies per DVD - yes with minor compression.
Anymore is a wet dream.
6+ movies -- If you use mpeg4 but then again you never mentioned if you wanted to play the DVD on a standalone.

Well
I have just taken possession of a dvd with 5 yes 5 movies on it with a menu (rocky collection) someone must have had a wet dream.
How was it done???????????? -
how do the movies look on a standalone player? also what is the file structure of this DISC that you have? are they vobs, mpg, avi or dat files?

Convert to VCD and the put them on DVD. Even so, 7-8 hours of video on a DVD will look very ropey: 100 mins of VCD will take up about 1Gb, so you will have about just over 400 mins (about 6 1/2 hours) of VCD quality to a DVD.

VCD quality in my opinion is a tad lower than VHS on a standalone. so its quantity vs quality. again, if you don't mind how do the 5 movies look on your TV screen and what is the file structure of this dvdrcuz if the movies look good and they are vobs the creator not only had a wet dream he had a frickin' tsunami
also are these the full movies, or are they...EDITED
i mean i can put 99 (is that about the limit?) movies on one dvdr with menus and chapter points, and they will be dvd-quality (vobs). just that they will be a LOT less that the entire lenght of the movie...trailers if you will.
