  1. I trying to encode an AVI file to MPEG2, I have used some of the help topics on the forum to configure my settings, I have scanned for bad frames and fixed the file, pulled the audio out using Goldwave. When I encode it runs for around an hour and then comes up with message 'Invalid Pointer Operation' and aborts the encoding. Anyone seen this error message before?

  3. If you mean scanning for bad frames, I have scanned it with VirtualDub and fixed all the bad frames.

I suggest you check again. That error message is symptomatic of bad frames. Maybe virtualdub missed one (or more). There is more than one way to remove bad frames, take a look at the user guide forum, I seem to remember a guide showing several different methods.
