  1. Hi,

I've been playing around with making vcd's from divX downloads. I was working with svcd's but my dvd player chokes on them. It plays vcd just fine though.

I've followed the guide and made some decent vcd's, but am wondering about what settings/filters I might change for a better quality vcd - specifically for making one with a divx source.

    Thanks

  2. I'm also interested in DivX->(S)VCD conversion, I have two rare to find movies in DivX and they don't look half good after VCDing them, even with a 2000kbps video bitrate.
Particularly the static backgrounds (walls etc) come out very blocky while the action scenes are better. I guess the DivXs were encoded with DivX-HighMotion compressor?
So, is there any trick to soften static scene blocks without ruining the rest of the movie?
