Is there a way to test the field order on an encoded m2v to make sure it is right before burning to the disc? I do a lot of transfers from VHS to DVD and once in a while I have to redo one because the field order was wrong.
I use a stand alone recorder with a DVD-RW to record and then rip to the hard drive fior editing.

There are some programs that detect such things. Ulead DVD MovieFactory does it, just make a new project, add your file, and right click it and click "Media Clip Properties". About halfway down it will say "Video Type: MPEG-2 Video, Field _" where _ is the field order.
I am not sure what other programs check the properties. I have tried to find a way with TMPGEnc, but no dice.
