  2. Is the file your missing NTLDR??

If it is just boot from the a:98 boot disk then copy the NTLDR file from your XP install disk to you root director, usually c:\

*EDIT* Forgot, Sometimes mine when boot and it says "Missing NTLDR" I have to reset the CMOS/BIOS to fix it (pop battery out). Also you probably won't boot from a CD cause your BIOS Boot sequence is wrong XP CD-ROM isn't a bootable disk to start windows it will only let you repair, reinstall, etc... You can make a bootable floppy though

Thanks for the reply. I can't boot from 98 because I have already formated the drive to ntfs. I found the floppy download and used it to repair my system so all is well thanks!!
