  1. I do some audio editing for my friends' websites, videos, etc and I do alot of this from my laptop. I have nearly 12 GB of music in MP3Pro format (64kbs). The problem is that the Audio Editors I use Cool Edit Pro, Acid Pro, etc, do not support the MP3Pro compression scheme, so the music doesn't sound good. I have looked all over and haven't found MP3Pro plug-ins for those programs. Space is limited on my laptop, so I can't store them all in regular MP3 format. anybody seen those plug-ins? If not, can anyone reccommend a good audio editor? I would like to keep using these two programs since I am familiar with them. But if necessary, I will use a different program

I think the big problem you'll find is that mp3 is a delivery format, not an editing format, much like mpeg-2 video vs. DV avi.

I've seen some trimmers and such that work with audio in mp3 format, like MP3TrimPro, but most of the serious audio editors that I've worked with, if they deal with mp3, they convert it to a temporary .wav file, edit, and then export the mp3.

I've used Wavelab to cut mp3, and I think Soundforge will do the same thing.
