  1. I working with an xvid ac3 file that I've only ever found online once (so I can't just try to redownload), and its got bad frames that I don't know how to get rid of. My ultimate goal is to convert to DVD mpeg2, but I can't do this with the bad frames. Now I've removed bad frames in the past, the problem I'm having though is that these bad frames crash VirtualDub. They crash it when I "Go to" those frames, when I try to save as an AVI, and even when I try to scan the video for freezes. I've tried using a bunch of different versions, from the latest (1.5.7) to VDub MP3 Freeze, with no success. The video file plays fine in Windows Media Player. You can see the frames get messed up for a second when it gets to the bad ones, but it doesn't cause a crash and the video looks fine after that.

Anyway, I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you know the exact frame number(s) you can cut it (them) out with an AviSynth command.

Maark the key frames on either side of the bad ones and then cut them out. You can look up a guide for editting with Vdub in the Edit section.
