problem with teac burner...

hi:
after reinstalling my winxp my burner starts to slow down my computer when it's burning ... before reinstalling i could play mp3s and watch mpegs and surf the net while it's burning but now it doesn't work cuz everything is slowed to a crawl .. also i installed that adaptec aspi driver thing but it never did effect it on my last winxp install .. ?? it's getting really frustrating and i'm trying not to use my burner but my hard drive is getting full can someone please help ...thanks for your time. ..

anyone know what's happening here ? i'm really frustrated ... any help would be appreciated ...
