  3. Both Movie Factory 2 and MyDVD are basic all inclusive packages that allow capture, some authoring like adding chapters, and burning the disk. You never need to leave either application to create the DVD. Which one did you use to capture the VHS file?

  4. Housepig,
Thanks for the information, but I have a new problem.
I have reached the final step where I choose the "output" button to burn the video. After pressing the output button I get a error message,
"THis disc is not empty,or there is no desc in the decive.Insert a blank disc and then try again".
I have a formatted Memorex DVD+RW disc in the drive. I selected rety and received the same error. I then insered a DVD+R disc that came with the drive, same error?

Try erasing (not formatting) the RW disk and see if that works.

  6. Erasing the drive did not resolve the problem,

    Thanks

  7. Do you have any way to verify the disks themselves are good? For example, can you write to the DVD+RW and check the file?

One other suggestion. I have had problems with programs that work but will not burn with my system. DVD-Lab was one. It would correctly identify the type of drive then insist that a DVD+R be placed in a -R drive which to me means a program bug for that particular drive but it probably works fine for everybody using other drives. Files created by either Movie Factory or MyDVD can be used with each other so try importing your file into the other application and see if it will burn.

  8. After using the "erase"feature in "Ulead" I was able to copy to the DVD+RW. I tested this on my new Home Sony VHS/DVD player. This does take a considerable amount of time, maybe it is my setup though.
    Thanks everyone for your help!
