Does anyone know anyway to improve the audio quality besides using an external tool like toolame.
I use toolame, but the quality still turns out to be really soft, I have to turn it all the way up to actually hear something.
Is there any setting I can change in DVD2avi and TMPEG to produce a better quality audio. Thanks!

Well, in TMPGEnc, there's a setting to max audio volume; I use it to gain consistency on tv episode compilations.
Hit 'Settings' at the bottom right-hand corner. In the 'Advanced' tab, you see a list of filters. The bottom one is 'Audio Effect'. If you check the box, it raises volume to the maximum. I haven't noticed any quality loss as a result of checking this, but then the audio has never been THAT much softer in my files. -
In DVD2AVI under Audio, choose Normalization. Check the box and drag the bar to 95%. I think this is loud enough without clipping the sound in very loud scenes.
