  1. Does anyone know anyway to improve the audio quality besides using an external tool like toolame.
I use toolame, but the quality still turns out to be really soft, I have to turn it all the way up to actually hear something.
Is there any setting I can change in DVD2avi and TMPEG to produce a better quality audio. Thanks!

  2. Well, in TMPGEnc, there's a setting to max audio volume; I use it to gain consistency on tv episode compilations.

Hit 'Settings' at the bottom right-hand corner. In the 'Advanced' tab, you see a list of filters. The bottom one is 'Audio Effect'. If you check the box, it raises volume to the maximum. I haven't noticed any quality loss as a result of checking this, but then the audio has never been THAT much softer in my files.

  3. In DVD2AVI under Audio, choose Normalization. Check the box and drag the bar to 95%. I think this is loud enough without clipping the sound in very loud scenes.
