  1. I have this file that I captured using ShowShifter. When I chose to view its properties in Windows, I can see that it's video compression is PVMJPG, and the audio is PCM.

I would like to convert it to an AVI (Divx or Xvid)/MP3 in Vdub. However, when I try, it doesn't work.

Here's what I do and what happens:

    Video - Compression - Divx 5.0.2
    Audio - Full Processing Mode - Compression - MP3 192kbps
    Save as AVI

Then, after a short time, the status window in Vdub stops counting. The elapsed time goes up, and the time to completion goes up, but nothing else changes. I hit abort and can wait indefinitely and it just stays "dubbing". If I try to close the program, a window pops up that generates/saves a crash report if I want to. I hit OK and the following error appears:

Instruction at "0x01dfb9b" referenced memory at "0x011743b8". The memory could not be "read".

So I hit OK, and the memory addresses are replaced by two different memory addresses. So I hit OK, and Vdub finally closes.

What's wrong? How do I convert this file?

    Thanks.

Load the video into Virtual Dub. Select Video-->Scan for bad frames. Check to see if you have any.
    Hello.

  3. I did that and it didn't tell me I had any bad frames (which isn't surprising because this isn't the only video file I have trouble with).

    Any other ideas/suggestions?
