I tried converting the same movie 2 times using 2 different appz. First I tried NanDub v1.0, then I tried Dr. DIVX v1.0.3. With NanDub v1.0, I was cranking out 14 to 15 fps, but with Dr. DIVX v1.0.3, I was going at a turtles pace of 4 to 5 fps. After reading many forums, many people seem to think that it's the power of the cpu that ultimately determines how fast ones conversion goes. I think this to only be partly true. If one app can dish out 14 to 15 fps, and another app that's converting the same movie on the same cpu can only dish out 4 to 5 fps, then it's obvious to me that certain appz are just sluggish and cpu power doesn't really matter as in my case. BTW, my cpu is only P3 1G with 256 RAM.
