PANASONIC DVD-RV31 (losing top and bottom of VCD on TV)

Hi! I tried to burn myself some VCD just to try this feature. Everything works fine in the burning process. I tried WinON CD 3.8 and easy CD creator 5 platinum. When I play the VCD, I'm losing the top and botom of the film or video. They are out of the TV screen. I burn Photo CD with WinON CD 3.8 and i got the same problem. The pictures or films and menus are working fine.

I tried those VCD in my CD ROM player on my computer and everything is fine. So where is the problem? My Tv is a Big projection screen from Proscan. It is not a HDTV.

I have the same problem. I don't know how to solve. It is very irritating. luckily, I can return it. I will ship this dvd player back to the store.

go in the settings menu on your dvd player... switch the tv aspect thing... that's what you may have to to

I have tried change the TV settings in the Panasonic DVD Player and also spoke to Tech Support from Panasonic. The problem didn't get resolve. There are three setting in the Video Aspect setting, 4:3 Pan&Scan(??), 4:3 Normal, 16:9. When the setting is 4:3 Normal, it should set the picture to 4:3 Normal in order to get the full picture from VCD Movies, but somehow this function for VCD does not work. For DVD, it was working fine. I suspecting this is a design flaw. Has anybody have this problem with the VCD Picture cut off? I returned my DVD player already.

I HAD this player, only returned it for another reason not worth mentioning, its a good player, my neighnor still has it and all VCDs I make for him are fine...be sure you stick to the right resolutions and bitrates for VCD...I did notice any change from 352x240(NTSC), if PAL (352x28 resulted in what you described...also, it is picky about staying at or below the standard 1150 bps video rate...max I have been able to do for this player was 1300 bps...however, that has no affect on what you are describing, just wanted to let you know hgtat as well.
