I have never seen a AUDIO_TS folder with any content before but
a movie that I borrowed yesterday has 8 files in it. They are
named Audio01 ....Audio08. Except for the Audio01 file (which is 30960KB) all other files are 36864 KB. File type is called just
"File" and I couldn't play these files with any software player
(PowerDvd, WinDvd, Real Player, Media player etc..). VIDEO_TS
folder is 4.10 GB (4*407*988*224 bytes). If you now add the sizes
of VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders it will be 4.38 GB (4 705 253 376
bytes). This is where the problems start for me. Funny thing is
I can play the disc with any of my 4 dvd drives but my standalone
dvd player (Pioneer DV 454) says "can't play the disc". I copied
VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to my hard disk and tried to make
a backup with Nero 6.0 but it refused even to start (the warning
was of course it couldn't burn the content to a single disk). I
then tried with RecordNow Max and it too gave a warning that the
whole content might not be able to burn to a single disc but unlike
Nero it did start burning. Towards the end RecordNow Max told me
to put a new disc to complete the burning which I of course didn't.
However a simple comparison of file sizes of two discs showed that RecordNow Max has after all burned the whole content. I could
play the burned disc with a software player like PoweDvd but
naturally my standalone dvd player won't play the disc. Can somebody
tell me how I can backup the movie:
* can I just burn the VIDEO_TS folder together with an empty
AUDIO_TS folder?
* do I need to reauthor using a tool like InstantCopy or
DvdShrink to fit into one disc
* is there any trick I can use so that I can play the disc
with my standalone dvd player
