  1. I would like to dub to DVD-RAM and then access the DVD-RAM on my PC. My questions are:

    1. After dubbing to DVD-RAM, does the DVD-RAM have to be finalized, like a DVD-R, before it can be read by a DVD drive?
    2. I realize that not all PC internal CD/DVD drives are capable of reading DVD-RAM, but how will I know if mine can read DVD-RAM?
    3. If my CD/DVD drive can read a DVD-RAM, will I be able to see the directories on the DVD-RAM using My Computer like I can with a regular CD, or does it require software to see the directories?

This is all new to me and I am trying to orient myself with all DVD processing. I have perused the vast knowledge in this forum and it is very helpful, but I have not been able to find anything dealing with these specific questions.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

  3. DVD-RAM is just a minature HD.

Few readers read DVD-RAM, but you have to look at the specs on the box of your writer.

    1. No.
    2. Put the dvd-ram your dvd-rom drive and try it.
    3. Yes, if you dvd-rom can read a dvd-ram, you will be able to see the directories on the dvd-ram. You don't need any special software.

    I have the Toshiba sd-m1712 dvd-rom that can read dvd-ram. It's about $40.
