  3. In the future, please do not ask these questions. You will have a millon different people give you a million different responses. If you would like to know what people use, that is fine, but there is not, and never will be a clear cut "best" of anything. All it does is start fights.

  4. what's wrong with fights, lol. What's the difference between RecordNow Max and RecordNow DX ? because I've got RecordNow DX (it came with my burner)

  5. Most people here seem to use either Nero or RecordNow Max for DVD burning. There are several flavors of RecordNow and I don't know the difference in all of them. One note stay away from EasyCD Creator for DVD burning.

Used to be a Nero fan, until its small compatiblility issues were proven to me by my own playing around. Now I use Record Now Max... excellent program.

  7. I use MyDVD 5.0 Deluxe to burn because it can transcode other audio formats to Dolby Digital without re-encoding the mpeg2 video if it is dvd-compliant.

  8. I would really like to which version of RecordNow is the best, like I say I've got the RecordNow DX that came on the MyDVD v4.0 CD (that came with my burner).

    Is there a better version?

I use RecordNow DX but you can get RecordNow 6.5 here:
    www.sonic.com/products/recordnow/recordnow/default.asp
RN Max/6.5 Deluxe adds MP3 encoding, video menus and labeling.

  10. CopytoDVD...extremely simple interface (actually just small dialog boxes {Browse and Burn}), 2-click process.

NOTE: do not open the main program unless you need to set/change the configuration.

Ulead VideoStudio is the absolute best, most successful program for burning DVD-Rs.
No other program is even a close 2nd!

  12. I would have to agree absolutely with Bob that Stomp! RecordNow Max is the absolute best program. Many people don't realize this is actually the classic Prassi PrimoDVD software with updated drivers and some bug fixes. (Veritas bought out Prassi and changed the name of the s'ware.)
RecordNow Max/PrimoDVD gives you more options than any other software I know of during burning. You can get into the nitty-gritty and specify the exact UDF format if you like, you can overburn, you can verify the media after write, you can create MiniDVDs, you can really do just about anything you would ever want to do in burning video to either a CD-R or a DVD-R (assuming you have one of the Pioneer burners that lets you burn both CD-R and DVD-R media).
