I want to create a Picture CD with music in the background, not narration for each picture. Do I just simply insert the music file first in Nero followed by all the jpegs.? So will the music just loop over and over again the background while the pictures are showing, or will it finish playing the song first, then show the images without the music?

  2. i am just going to throw my 2 cents in here. i am sure you can burn a slideshow with music using nero, but i don't know how. but i do know of a software that i use that works GREAT and i do mean GREAT for what you want to do. the software is called: ArcSoft Showbiz. you can go from one picture to another using tons of fades in and out that it has, you can also change how long the picture stays up for and you can record upto two different audios on top of each other and how long they play for, what point of the song/music it starts/end/fade in/fade out. you can also mix pictures and movie clips. you won't be disappointed. i use it regularly.

i downloaded a program called proshow gold and it does what you want no fuss. you insert your pictures in order on the time line, set how long you want each photo to show on screen for, set what type of way you want each photo to leave the screen, ie slide off to the left or right etc, then you just drop an mp3 or wav file onto the bottom time line. my first show i made with this was 15 minutes long so i used 3 different mp3 files and the played at the times i set for them. its very easy to use and although its a download of something like 20mb its well worth it as you can really customize your photoshows to look exactly how you want them to.

I use a program called SlideShow Movie Maker. Creates an .avi then just encode with your favorite encoder. You can add music but you'll most likely need to do the narration outside of SSMM in .wav format. NEVER noticed a recording option on SSMM.
It also has fades and picture duration settings....and it's freeware.

If you want to take the easy way out, you can use windows movie maker which is free(comes with xp but available for free @ microsoft's website). Its easy and anyone with a little bit of computer knowledge can figure it out. It creates files as a mpg so you're ready to burn as soon as you're done creating.

@ marinn001...sounds like a useful tool to have. Is it free? If so, can you provide a link?
