    i want to extract audio out of a video file but the audio compression is like unknown?
    here is a screenshot of it!

    It's AC3 audio and requires the AC3 codec, look in the Tools section. Vdub can't convert AC3, use Goldwave, just load the avi then save. Gspot is great for testing avi files and reporting on the required codecs.
