  1. I would just like to know exactly how these people capture these PDTV shows. I have been trying to capture the OC for the last few weeks. I have a ATI A-I-W 9700 card and I just cannot get it to go wide screen like that. So I guess I have 2 questions, do i have the correct card to capture something like that or do i need to buy something else. I have DTV and I am trying and would like to capture off of that. I do not have a TiVo reciever and i am not sure if i need one. And the second question is how do these people capture it, only because i would like to do it too.

    Thanks all

  3. You need a HDTV capture card. Supposedly the MyHD 120 is the best.

  4. How would i connect that to my DTV? Sorry Im an noob at this i have no idea if it can even be done. When i say DTV I mean DirecTV. I have cable but it is really bad quality. Also I dont know if this can be done but i believe that tivo takes the video directly from the stream and puts it onto a harddrive, if you could get the video off the harddrive would this accomplish the same thing (would be video quality be the same?)

  5. DirectTV doesn't support HDTV streams. DTV officially mean digital telvision, and refers to broadcasting only. Not Satallite feeds, or cable.

  6. Would i get the same result from taking something that was recorded off of a tvio box? As in quality, or same result.

  7. TVIO only records what you can recieve. You can't revieve a PDTV signel so there is no way to record it. I don't think TVIO can take HDTV streams anyway. Its like 19 megabytes. TVIO re-encodes all video to its hard drive at D1 (480i, DVD resolution), I don't think it copies the stream as is, and HDTV is 1080i or 720p. HDTV streams are over a gigabyte per minute.
