  1. I have the Sony TRV25 and wish to author DVD as easily as possible.
I have a firewire connection and I am hoping to pass divx thru my CAM from one computer, (analog video out) to my laptop iLink as a file that I can burn to DVD.
    Any suggestions?

  2. Why would you want to do that. If you have a divx on one pc, simply use an encoder such as tmpgenc to create a DVD compliant mpeg. You then need to author it for DVD and burn.

  3. It can be done. Just connect your TV out (I am assuming that you have one) from your computer to your TRV-25. Plug your TRV-25 to your laptop with a firewire cable and enable DV out on the camcorder's menu. Use DVIO or DVapp to capture the DV on your laptop. As you probably know, the TRV-25 has a passthrough feature making this possible.

  5. I meant, it would be transfered through DV. Although not impossible, it is harder to transfer mpeg through firewire. I didn't read the title of the post properly.

You can transfer anything you want through anything you want
    if both parties agree..
It is actually impossible to transfer MPEG2 through Firewire if
the sending device doesn't even have MPEG2. (like the camera in question)

  7. Yes I know. For example, microMV camcorders transfers mpeg.

But I wonder if there is any freeware programs that allow mpeg to be sent from one computer to another one.

Network over firewire is also bundled in WME. It is faster than Eternet 100.
