  1. I have copied a DVD to 3 CD-R in SVCD format.
But whenever I want to copy the CD by INSTANTCD/DVD or NERO it gives me a copy which stutters and shows block every 5 seconds, (just horrible )

I also tried to copy the .MPG file form the CD and then with NERO copy it back in a SVCD format.
    Still the same problem.

So how is it possible to copy such CDs????

    Thx,

    Johny

The original probably has errors in it (in fact it has no error correction on it, being a mode2 burned CDR). The copy software doesn't know what to do with errors. You DVD Player ignores erros and goes onto teh next block, that's why you se macroblocks now and then.

Use VCDGear to rip the MPEG's from the CDR's, then take the resulting MPEG's and work from there, it should patch around errors.

I don't use Nero or the process you use but.... maybe this is the step you need or are missing for your second attempted way to do it? https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141726.php#svcd

Someone jumped in quicker than I could. :c)

Some drives are better at reading than others. I have an old 8x SCSI CDR that could read dam near anything. I've had disks I've written off that it managed to choke it's way through. Maybe your source drive tries twice and gives up?

  7. I used VCDGear to get the movie from the CD-R, There was 1 error. I checked it on my PC and the movie was fine, Then I burned it with NERO6.0 using SVCD (no options/configurations changed), Watching then the movie in my PC is OK, but as soon I put it in my Player it goes chucky chucky chucky.

    Any ideas outthere????

    Thanks,

    Johny
