I'm looking to add a built-in player to a VCD I'm creating. This way, if people do not have a VCD/DVD player, they can just put it into their computer CD-ROM and play the movies.
I saw it done with a commercial VCD from Sony and I know how to do the file structure and autorun, etc..
my question is if I don't close the CD after creating the VCD can I just add the additional files/folders and finalize it as a data CD ? Would it still play on standalone DVD players ?
Thanks

what you do is drop the program and the autorun on the disk at the time of creation. What I do is put the player into a folder that I make and name WIN, then just put the autorun pointing toward the file in the folder and it SHOULD work. I have to admit that I have had some problems with this working on some Win2K computers.
also check the autorun info on the following page.
