    I tried the following instructions as listed in the DVD players section at vcdhelper.

    Schneider 810 To enable VCD playback
    1. open the drive tray.
    2. place any CD in the Drive tray.
    3. Press the STOP button on your remote control.
    4. Press the MENU button on your remote control.
    5. Press the 9 button on your remote control.
    6. Press the 1-ALL button on your remote control.
    7. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on your remote control.
    8. You should now be in a new menu in which you can enable VideoCD playback.

    It didn't work. Am I missing something?

    I`ve got the same problem. I bet you have the Version 003 too. The guys from Schneider told me how to change the RC but they said it`s not possible to play vcd on this Player. I don`t believe them
    If I found out something I`ll let you know.
