My problem is that it seems like my dvd standalone canīt play DVD copies if there is less than 4 Gb of info on the disc....wich to me is very strange to begin with....but what can u do. Just adapt to the circumstances
Thus I canīt rip some dvdīs as movie only and need to include extras 'til i get over 4 Gb.
My Question is: Is there any software out there that can accomplish this?
Grateful for any ideas

First, I seriously doubt that you're DVD player can not play DVDs < 4GB. There are several commerical DVDs that are less than 4GB.
But in answer to your question there are several choices. Freeware wise try DVD Shrink. Set the parts you don't want to keep to 'still images', and compress the parts you want to keep as necessary (or set to no compression).
Some other transcoders allow you to replace the VTS with a single still image (DVD Shrink produces several still images). A single still image is much smaller, but you've got to pay to get that feature. IIRC DVD2One can do this. -
first of all thanx for the reply.
about the player...of all the movies i have ripped and burn using the exact same mothod/software. thereīs about 3-4 movies that donīt work are all under 4.02Gb (Wich is the smallest size i got working). the dvdīs that donīt work are are all under 4.0Gb.
I canīt come up with another explanation.....the dvd player is a philips 951 with firmware 8.11
if anyone have another explanation iīd be very grateful -
I have no "other explanation" but I can fairly categorically assure you that your player WILL play smaller discs.
Every Disney movie ever produced is around 3GB in size, or smaller. I bet they play flawlessly.
At any rate, DVD2One does NOT do what you want. The programs that do are:
1. CloneDVD.
2. Instant Copy 8 (NOT 7).
Or there's a new program that macemx was going on about a while ago - dunno if it's out yet. It selectively removes extras and whatnot.

DVDShrink will do it by itself. Remove Subs/Audio tracks as need until you hit what you want. If that is still too big, then shrink the menu's to stills and put the audio back. You can keep playing with this until you get close. If all else fails, you can manually control main title shrink % to hit any value you want for disk size.

mrschh, I'd suggest you use DVD Shrink in "Re-author" mode.
Drag the movie-title to the re-author window, and add as many extras as you need (by also dragging them to the same re-author window).
If you're not familiar with DVD Shrink, check these user-friendly guides:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php
P.S: if adding one extra will mean the movie-title gets compressed, simply set it to "No Compression".
If the target size cannot be reached, use "Ratio" on the extra.
If it's still too big to fit on a DVD-R, use "Still Pictures" for the extra (it will not be watchable, but you would at least have fixed your "4GB+" problem). -
Glad to hear you found a solution to your problem.
