OK. Its official. The topic has drifted, and has gone as far as waking the Birmingham (UK) troller and flamebaiting group.

Obviously Shilohaura did not want to post the name of show. Maybe some Spanish reading person would like to do a google search on Mexican musical programs being aired out of Tiajuana. But really, that name of the show isn't as important as the topic.

We can lead this discussion back to topic or let it die. Your choice...

The proceeding was an opinion. Standard disclaimers apply. Despite what is written, the writer makes no claim to advocacy of illegal actions. Any allusion of advocacy of illegal actions is a subjective illusion of the reader.

It IS true though. EVERY decline in record(CD) sales is now balmed on piracy. I'm not sure about you.....but I've NEVER had the urge to pirate 50Cent's stuff....or any other cRAP recording.

Also please note that CD sales figures are NOT.....I repeat NOT based on actual sales. The numbers are based on DISTRIBUTION.
Every little shop that sells CD's CAN NOT be transmitting data to ANYONE concerning EVERY single CD sold in their little un-computerized shop....it is IMPOSSIBLE.

So as soon as an order(let's say a case of P Diddle CD's) goes out to ANYONE (yes even the mom and pop CD shops).....that...to "them" is a sale. And if they all get stolen?.....the CD shop orders more....MORE SALES to "them".

Think about it....how many little CD shops do YOU shop in that have price stickers ON their CD's and still don't have the ability to scan the barcode.
I can think of at least 5 in my old neighborhood back home in America.

  4. I decided a long time ago that I wasn't going to perpetuate the disgusting business practices of the RIAA by buying cd's at retail prices, so I solved the problem by going to garage sales, buying used cd's for $1-$2, taking them to music shops in my area and obtaining trade credit towards the purchase of new or other used cd's. I have approximately 75 cd's in my collection and I have never paid anything close to full retail for ANY of them.

I encourage all to do the same.

    Cheers!
