  1. hey guys ive heard this quote from alot of people on how to "patch" stills to get them to work on VCD not SVCD!

"just look out for 00 00 01 e0 hex sequences...
    and replace them by 00 00 01 e1... that's it...
    (but it's a bit hacky...)"

Ive created a bitmapp bout 704x480 and want to create a still in my VCD not SVCD. for menus. I already know how to create a menu in XML but i jus need a still to display!

I used TMPGEnc to import my bmp and then export to *.m1v
Im not entirely sure on wat settings to use and what to do with the .m1v file. ALSO how do you look for "hex sequences" to patch them to get them to work as stills??

any help with this would be great

  2. You can use TSCV. There is a "Stills" tab that makes all the conversion and patching very easy. You do have to have TMPGenc installed to convert.

You can patch using a Hex editor. Just search for one, they are easy to find. They are mainly freeware hackers tools. You want one with a "find and replace" function, just like a text editor has, such as M$ Wordpad. They are fairly straight forward to use.
