  1. I would like some feedback on Cinema Craft Encoder. I would like to convert AVI files into DVD compatiable files , but I notice CCE (reading the posts) needs a lot of side programs to do the job, True or False? What is the best version to use? What are the configs to use when trying to encode AVI to DVD compatiable MPGs (for PAL)? I converted an AVI to MPV (what???, MPV) now what? Thanks for any feedback

CCE does not require any "helper" programs to encode from avi files. If you were converting vob files from a DVD you need to frameserve to CCE.
MPV is generic name for mpeg video files. CCE has settings to change the file it generates to m2v shich is what you need to author into DVD compatible files. CCE is much faster than TMPEG,which produces the best results is in the eye of the beholder.

  3. See if you can help me with this one...

I am trying to get the hang of Cinema Craft encoder , but I keep getting a problem and I am not sure on how to handle it. I have an AVI file with the following details...

    Video - Codec 4CC Div3 (DivX 3 Low-Motion)
    Aspect 368 x 272 (1.353 : 1)
    Bitrate 486 kb/s
    Frame rate 25.000 FPS

    Audio - 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
    Bitrate 96 kb/s (48/ch x 2 ch) CBR
    FS 44100 Hz

I can play the orginal file (AVI). It has video and audio , but when I try to encode the file with Cinema Craft Encoder it gives me three messages. One, can not save ecl file. Two, couldn't find appropriate video codec for div3 . The last, vinfo_open failed.

I am puzzled because the codec are there because it plays with video and audio , but the program states it can not find the codec. I had a another AVI file with a simular message but had a problem finding a different codec. My problem - some AVIs files work with Cinema Craft Encoder , but the ones that do not I recieve the same message 'couldn't find appropriate video codec'.

What can I do to fix this problemß
