  1. Hi, this sounds so stupid but my cd writer wont read blank discs, it reads others fine.

    I have HP CD Writer Plus 7200 series, I know this is very old but does anyone have any solutions for this?

    I agree. If you by "blank discs" mean "a CD-R(W)s that's not been written to", then that's the way things are. There's simply nothing to read, not even an empty file system. It's like an unformated diskette (rest in peace).

    or you could be using the wrong disc try using CD-R/RW of CD+R/RW

    Make sure your computer recognises the drive as a CD Writer. Try installing some new drivers from the internet, or reinstall the ones you have. Try installing Nero, or a different program that burns CDs.

    I may be uninformed, but I've never come across different types of CD recordables (+/- R(W))...
