I had the same problem... until I realized it was a DVD that I had already done a deep analysis on, but never actually hit the 'back up' button. I'm guessing it saves the results from the deep analysis somewhere, so you don't need to do it again.

Thanks Vandakeg.....
That would make sencse as i alreday did i deep analysis for the film i wanted to back up -
Hi all.
DVD Shrink does indeed save the results of deep analysis.
The files are in a hidden folder situated at:
"C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\DVD Shrink 3.0"
Even better, DVD Shrink saves the result of a partial deep analysis.
So it will start where you left off when you decide to complete (or continue) it. -
A lot of people get confused by this. Instead of greying out the button perhaps there should be a pop up explaining that analysis has allready been done.

Greetings,
For a Beta version, I find it is pretty stable. In fact, I had more problems with DVDxCopy Platinum commercial non beta release than DVD Shrink. It is why I decided that until they fix their faulty product, I shall use my combinaison of DVD Shrink, IMGTools and DVD Decrypter to copy my DVDs. It takes a little bit longer, but the results are better and I do not waste a DVD-R because the software crash during the writing.
Not to sounds to praise to much the author of DVD shrink, but I would pay for his product if it would not be free. I wish the next version will add a couple of functionalities like black screen instead of "still image". In spite of this, it is still the best.
Thank you -
Thats why its called "BETA"
