  1. I used tmpeg to convert it to mpeg 4 and then use IfoEdit to make the .vob files. But, I have a bunch of clips that I want to put onto ONE dvd. How would I accomplish this?

To burn to a dvd, you need to convert to mpeg2...after you finish encoding all the clips(lower the bitrate if they dont all fit), go to mpeg tools in tmpgenc and combine them all into one file. Then put it through an authoring program and burn away.

Yes. If you have all your clips and know they are DVD compliant (see What Is DVD top-left) you are ready to move on to Authoring https://www.videohelp.com/author#6

Also see TOOLS - DVD Authoring for lists and descritptions of available programs.

  4. If your files are DVD compliant you can also use Tmpgenc DVD author and load each file. It does DVD or mpegs and you can add many files.
I have done this several times and it works well.

  5. As long as all your files are mpeg's and dvd complaint you can load them into tmpgenc dvd author.

So...... We're all in agreement? LOL :cD Yep, that prog is great and inexpensive. There are others. But it'll do the trick. :c)

  7. I second my vote for XXXXXX

Actually Tmpgenc DVD author also does DVD files. You can load already authored dvds same as mpegs, use the second button for add files not the first

    Your right about that Gees.
I made a back up of the Love Bug movies (all 4, one per disk) from vhs to DVD -r.
The one I made a motion menu on turned out so well I really wish I could share it, but of course I can't. Has the Little VW racing all over the place.
It was the second movie, Herbie rides Again, and the car has about a 2 minute dream scene about all the races he won in the first movie. I used that for a 2 minute motion menu and it turned out perfect! Normally I don't do that many motion menus, but this time I couldn't resist

The more I use this program the more I find I can do and the more I love it!

Sure you can! Send it to me! :cD

I've had 3 bugs :c) One was a cherry red 57 with a little "ganster" window in the back, one of those "foot" gas pedals, a racing type steering wheel and custom-made wooden bumpers! I loved it! The other was a Baja Beetle, and I forget the year of my first. Didn't have it long. It had one of those (don't know what you call it) but you shift, but there's no clutch dealies. :cD And I wanted a stick.

So... I am very deserving of your custom disc. :c))))

  9. I had a 69 beetle long ago, and now have a nice little 74 I think it is.
Haven't fixed it up yet, runs good, some dents, needs right hand floor pannels replaced. I can do it, just haven't had time.

Where is pal realm? Have you got the movies there?

  11. So what if I have clips of .mpeg... I don't know what type of cilps they are be it mpeg 1, 2, 3 or 4. How does one find out?

If they aren't DVD compliant, I need to re-encode them to be able to be playable with a DVD player, right? And after that? Use tmpeg to join together all the files and then author it onto a DVD?

The first reply to you said your clips need to be mpeg 2 - for DVD. I think we all misread your post and thought the "4" was shorthand for "for".
Because you then went on to say you had "vob" files.

I think now, you are much further away from placing anything on DVD than we first thought.

I'd suggest you read everything in "What IS DVD" (blue section on the left), then move to Convert, then Author (green sections).

While you are reading and trying each step, you could come back and post specific questions about steps in the process. :c) But at this early stage a good long read of what's required is in order.

There's a good Glossary in the blue section too if you run into terms first time.

Good luck, :c) and sorry for the other more personal replies within your thread.

Overloaded - I'm in UK. :c) I'm sure I could get the movies here. I was mostly kidding, except that I would love to see the little vdub going back and forth the way you've done it. Sounds cute. :c)

PS - I also have a 74 Thing in the US. :cD
