I have an episode disk - 4 episodes on the disk, along with a bunch of extras. It's a dual layer disk, with about 8G of data. *All* the episodes, and the extras, are in a single titleset - VTS_01_0.VOB through VTS_01_8.VOB.
I suppose I could rip the entire thing and just use DVD2One to compress it to a single disk. But I'd rather get rid of the extras and have better quality. Is there a way to get rid of the files in the titleset that are extras, while keeping the episodes?
I think this question reveals my general lack of understanding about IFO and VOB files and how to manipulate them - I'm trying desperately, and I've read every user guide and form I can get my hands on, but I just can't quite get it. I've experimented a bit with IFOEdit, but I've never managed to create a working DVD, and I think it is because I don't entirely understand what I'm doing when I strip a stream, or create an IFO file.
Any help anyone could offer, either on the forum or privately, would be most appreciated. I feel like if I could only understand the theory better this would be easy - and I've been struggling to do so for a few weeks now, but I can't quite get there.

Yeah get DVDShrink and either compress the entire thing, OR compress the last half and one disc and the first half on the 2nds to still frames. This creates a 2 disc backup without messing up any of the nuts and bolts of the DVD.
There is more info about it near the end of the guide listed under this message.
