    I have a BENQ DW400A DVD +R/RW Drive. Had it about 2 weeks only. I burned a few movies with it fine. I had to reformat my computer and now the drive sees all DVD media as a 1.99 GB Audio CD. Blank dvd+r and RW, and the previously burned dvd+R that I did. DVD Movies (retail) work ok). These work fine on another computer and also the standalone. So far all of the help that I have gotten from BENQ is to install WIN DVD, which I already had on the system. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, to no avail. Basically it is useless to me unless I can figure out how to fix it or if BENQ gives me something else to try. Has this happened to anyone, and if so how did you fix it? I already have aperfectly good CD RW. I want to mainly use this to copy my video tape to DVD but I cannot do anything with it now. Thanks for any help.

    What did OS did you install after format?
    If XP the run a windows update and download the patches.
    Also try to install force ASPI 4.60 NT the ones that come with XP suck.

    Yes, I tried it. I also used the checker and the software reports this to be a DVD drive, and the media as DVD.

    Tiger Direct is replacing this drive. It is a good thing because today all cd's are also seen as audio. Must have been a bad drive.

    Me4 again. This is the third drive that I have had to get. Today it will burn a movie using Clone DVD, but wullnot playback that same movie on the computer. I can play a factory dvd movie fine. The burned movies play fine on the stand alone dvd drive. Any suggestions other than throwing it out the window? I hace to contact BENQ once again as it is past the 30 day mark for Tiger. Benq has already sent me out one replacement, this in addition to the replacement from Tiger.

    Two words for you: Don't buy BENQ brand. Don't buy from tiger direct.
