HELLO! I am a newbie so to speak. Hope you can help!
I own the Pionner 106 burner.
I am using Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD 7
I want to copy a copy.
The copy has already been decrypted and fit on to one dvd-r.
What do I do to make a copy of this copy.
Is there a better program to use.
I can't seem to get it to work.
What is this VIDEO_TS folder that I must create.
And when I have created that, what do I burn it in?!
Do I burn as File, Data, or what.
Thanks in advance![]()

This is the way i would do it
Use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO READ mode to RIP the DVD to your HDD then use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO WRITE mode to BURN to a DVD recordable. -
What am I missing in the question?
Use the software that was provided with your DVD burner and use the disk copy function. Pretty much like copying a CD.... -
I would use Nero. DVD-ROM to DVD-R on the fly.
Maybe an image first if no DVD-ROM available.
Really easy and fast.
You don't need to rip a non-CSS disc. That's a waste of time.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Whatever you do, do not burn with Pinnacle.
Like the one post said, just use DVD Decrypter.
I wouldn't use the software that came with my burner either, it's usually trash...that's why it was bundled with the burner...it is not selling on it's own. There are some exceptions but typically trash. -
Easiest way is to create a TEMP directory, drag and drop all of the VIDEO_TS files to that directory. Then open NERO, select DVD_VIDEO, then drop all the files from the TEMP directory into NERO's VIDEO_TS directory, then burn.

1. Insert DVD-R in your DVD ROM drive.
2. Insert blank in your DVD burner.
3. Fire up ANY DAMN PROGRAM THAT BURNS DISCS, and hit "copy".
4. Wait.
How hard is this, people?

I'm developing an auto-responder, that will automatically reply to posts with certain terms in them.
Examples:
"last quarter of the movie" "stutter" "pixelation"
BAD MEDIA BAD MEDIA READ MY LIPS ITS BAD MEDIA
Put the damn disc in and hit "copy". Jesus, people!

Gurm, maybe you should tone it down a little. You are borderline abusive.
Hello. -
Thanks folks! I appreciate everyones' help----except for GURM!
No need for sarcasm.
I only have a dvd burner, and a regular cd burner---NO dvd rom drive installed. But thanks anyway-.
I have burned 5 movies doing the ISO read/ISO write in decryptor. NO problems at all.
How do I get the Pioneer 106 to burn faster. It is rated at 4X, but is burning at 1.2X.
I tried to go into IDE controllers Advanced settings to set in 'Ultra DMO mode'---can't do it.
Also-- do I need to upgrade the firmware to v 1.07????
Any help again would be perfect----even from GURuMpy Mofo. -

No, he doesn't. There is no reason for such a tone. He did not even have to respond if he did not like the question. They are beginners, just show them where to find what they need to know, and let the moderators moderate the boards.
Hello. -
Ginge,
The problem with burning on the fly is that you're overstressing your system bus. You're forcing your machine to both read AND write huge amounts of data every second. And odds are your machine isn't up to the task.
Now your burner DOES have that nifty BURN-PROOF feature (or whatever it's called on your burner) but that's an "emergency" feature, not something you should rely on.
Now, as for Ultra-DMA, if you can't set that then you need to troubleshoot.
Yes, get the latest burner BIOS and motherboard BIOS. Always. That's step 1.
Step 2 is to remove the drive and redetect.
Also what else is on that IDE chain?
-----------------
Now as for those who think I'm being "abusive"... cope. I help out here a lot. You want me to go away? That's fine by me. But I know more than you, and I can be helpful. I just wish people would read the F-ing instructions.

If you are using nero, you can still copy like Gurm said even if you only have one drive, just make sure you have enough HD space for an ISO file of that size. Just set your read drive to your burner, nero will copy the disc to an ISO and then eject the read disc and ask you to insert a blank one.
For everyone else -
Although not as quick tempered as gurm, but come on, there are 1000 tutorials on this site on how to copy a dvd. The pixelation or skipping toward the end of the movie deal where the problem is bad media, anyone could find that result if they just scanned the threads, click and read. I too get a little thin skinned when people get a great deal on media and then wonder why the video sucks. -

You may not think his tone is that bad, but trust me, he thinks we all are morons.

I don't think you're all morons.
Just most of you. LOL.
Honestly, you haven't personally done anything to convince me that you're a moron ... yet.

there have been many posts about this subject
i remember reading some where people had problems doing a straight copy.
various problems with the various burning software
i read somewhere where someone said it was quicker to rip than to copy
i know its a layer 1 without any copy protection on it. i understand the logic behind just doing a straight copy.
but all that said and after everything ive read about it,
this is the way i choose to do it
Use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO READ mode to RIP the DVD to your HDD then use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO WRITE mode to BURN to a DVD recordable. -

I would never do on the fly copy, never know if there is an error on the dvd, producing an image file first will save you a dvd if there is errors.
