  1. I have a 400 mb video clip in .mpg format, it has its own settings/resolution/etc and is not VCD/SVCD/XVCD or anything, it is meant to be played on computer. I only want to crop out approx 2000 frames, without changing or converting anything, how do I go about doing this? I know TGMEnc (sp?) has this nifty feature that even allows me to preview the clip but it forces me to choose a preset output format (VCD/SVCD/DVD).

    Thanks.

Well, you started with a .MPG video
I have a 400 mb video clip in .mpg format
and ended up with an .AVI
but my movie file is AVI
    .

They each have specific ways of editing them. First, you need to figure out which type you have.
