Hey guys. I am a newbie and before I decide to post I have read, read, and read!! And alot more of it.

But I just wanted to share a topic with all of the guys here that has blamed there home dvd players that either locked up, freeze and then plays or just pauses a lot.
If you had these symptoms while played DVD - or + R's then I got the cure!!

I own 2 dvd players which are the Daewoo 5700 which has been flashed to become regionfree (PAL and NTSC formats) and also macrovision disable.
And my other dvd player which is a Toshiba SD3750 (progressive scan).

With these 2 players I have attempted to use both DVD -/+ R's using DVDxCopy and I had these symptoms above and the SD3750 which has claimed it is able to play dvd-r's

well for my sake NOT!!! It did play,, but locked up during the end of the flick.

So I did a lot of reading and I did use differnt dvd media brands. Still same issues with both my dvd players. So I decided to play my backup dvd movies on my PC dvd player and which I have to say it has been successful.

What was my cure from getting away from the issues I had above. I went out and bought a freggin new dvd player. Yes I got the Yamaha DVS5650 progressive scan player. And was the issues above cured? Hell yes!!!

I read it all about possibable bad media, PC getting to HOT and not burning correctly to dvd player not compatable . Its the dvd player all!!

Here is what I use to burn my movies:

    DvDxCopy Express.

DvD media I used from Cheapo = CompUSA DvD-R, Liquid Video 2X dvd-r and last and most expensive media I have purchase Memorex dvd+r (4x) and all did a great job in my new dvd player.

As for my other 2 dvd players. They sit around and play MP3s or dvd rentals. And if I am lazy and not want to be in the theater room to play regionfree dvds... then I use the Daewoo 5700.

So all in all guys,,, before spending a $hi$ load of money on dvd media or trying to update your drivers,,,, pa pa please try a new dvd player that claims by spec by the manufacture that will play the format you need. And the Yamaha did it for me.

Thanks for reading. And glad I can be of some assistance

  2. Just another negitive DVDxCopy post to me. Sounds like either a burn issue or a timecode problem. Either way, I'd blame DVDxCopy.

Maybe you should post this in the DVD Players section so more people can see this in the future. Looks like there is only one post on this unit so far and there isnt any comments.

    No way man.

I really think these 2 players that I own are just picky dvd players that will not play dvd Rs really well, sorry to say.

I love them 2 dvd players and well over lasted me 2 years on both. But after all the reading and tossing my dvd media as coasters or frisbees... I figure the blame is on the dvd units all this time.

I feel that I just had to spend some time really reading, testing and then determin which is the best logic way to save. So a new dvd player I got was the correct choice,, if you get my drift .

Yea I really did not want a new dvd player,,, but dvd media is very expensive and yea it is fun testing,,, but 45 min per dvd burning and find out again and again,,, that the dvd players are not finishing up the movies successfully , it really gets old. So yep.... they were the dvd players all this time. I found out the truth once I played all my dvdRs that I thought were bad in my pc dvd player.... and that is where I made my correct choice 8) .

DvD players make the difference and it did for me.
Thanks.. now I am a happy camper
