  1. I'm manually (not one-click) backing up Incredible Hulk, animated DVD.. AFter stripping and creating a .d2v file, something strange is happening when playing the .d2v file (or for that matter, the new stripped VOB's):

Every so often during playback in PowerDVD, some frames keep repeating with a flashing pic of the Hulk in the top-left corner of the screen.. ??? THen it plays fine for a while, then it happens again.. ?? Haven't checked, but i'd guess this happens thruout the DVD.. But when playing the original VOB's, the problem does not occur..

Is this some sort of encryption or what?? Please advise..

Well I haven't looked at this DVD, but it seems that this must be a separate angle. It sounds like maybe it is simulating a "button over video" type of feature, but with the buttons hard encoded into the picture rather than using regular subpictures. Open the IFO in IFOEdit and look to see if you see any vob-ids labeled "Angle 1" and "Angle 2." If so than it is defiitely multiangle and you can use IFOEdit to strip that second angle and not be able to make use of this feature, or you can manually recreate this multiangle feature by encoding each angle separately and then combine them during authoring.

One thing is for sure, this is definitley not a form of copy protection.
