    Hi...new to all of this...I have a Pioneer Dvr-ao6 and have noticed some firmware for this burner. What is it, and what does it do.....Pros and cons, please.....

    You'll need to look up what additions/improvements are included on your burner's manufacturer's site.

    Each is different and provides or changes different things.

    cons
    usually don't do it unless you're having problems with compatibility, media, etc. You may have issues with warranty if you update firmware. If you stuff up the firmware upgrade you can damage your burner.
