What program can I use to multiplex dvd audio and video streams to get a dvd compliant mpeg.
I can capture dvd mpeg2 files but the problem is I can only capture audio at 44100khz so I have to re-encode just for the audio.
To run it through tmpgenc and completely re-encode takes 5 hours and reduces the quality.
I can de-multiplex save the video and audio stream separately and just re-encode the audio which only takes about 15 minutes but I can't multiplex the streams to create a dvd compliant mpeg.
I tried running the streams through tmpgenc dvd author but I keep getting read errors.
It wouldn't even start output. I checked streams for errors but they are fine and works through tmpgenc.
I tried using ifoedit, which multiplexed the streams and it worked but now I have a bunch of VOB files with ifo files that don't work.
My movie is too big to fit on one dvd and usually when I have that problem I just open the movie through dvdshrink re- author and cut it in half.
The IFO files sonic mydvd make work but the ifoedit ifos don't.
Which brings me to my next question. Can you create the necessary ifo and bup files just from the vob files alone?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

I re-installed tmpgenc dvd author and it seems to work now. No more read errors.

Try out this guide:
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/142742.php
since you are able to capture in mpeg2 but your audio is set at 44.1khz, sounds like your capturing in svcd format. This guide will create the proper compliant dvd format and since you already know how to use dvdshrink, you already know how to reduce the size of your movie.
I had used the guide for the first time during the weekend to covert a friends svcd to dvd-r. Worked great in an apex dvd player and had no problems on the first try.
Hope this helps -
Thank you for your responses. I re-installed tmpgenc DVD author and now I have no problems. I can de-multiplex with tmpgenc, save the audio, re-encode it, then use tmpgenc DVD author and input the original video with the re-encoded audio. The whole process take me about 25 minutes.
I wasn't capturing in SVCD format, the resolution is different from SVCD to DVD so I would have to re-encode the video also. The problem is that my sound card only let me capture up to 44.1khz.
And I have already made DVDs with without re-encoding the audio, and though they were playable the audio video sync was off.
Thanks Again for all your responses.
