dvd playback question (method of burning)

When I use dvdshrink and then burn the ifo file on a dvd and try to play it on my dvd player it does not work. What am I missing in the method that I am using to burn dvds? By recording in iso dvds work every time in my player so I know it is not a compatibility issue. I am assuming it has something to do with me burning in ifo, but how do I fix it. Thanks for your help in advance.

are you burning anything besides the ifo file ?

well, what i do is i shrink the dvd and using dvdshrink and then it forms a ifo file, and then i burn it, it works fine in the computer, but not on a dvd player, but iso works in my dvd player so I know it isnt a compatibility thing
