    Every time I try to move the slide to FF the video, it frezees my computer. I had the same problem with DVD Movie Factory. I can't believe this is an ongoing problem, do they have a QA deparment?

    Is anybody else experiencing this problem? I had to go back to my old and reliable videowave.

    Yes, they have a tech support department. When the program freezes, is there any disk activity? When my VS 7 seems to stop working and I still have disk activity, I wait for it to stop, then it unfreezes.

    Yep, you can move the mouse cursor, but you can't do anything. I waited for like 2 min and shut down the computer.

    How long do you wait? I have a 2.4 Ghz so I don't think this program is taking a short time to finish.

    I have videowave and it doesn't have this problem. It's not the best program but it fits my needs.

    I sometimes do have to wait a little. But VS 7 fits my needs and then some.

    1. Click FILE > PROJECT PROPERTIES;

    2. Observe how your project properties are adjusted;

    3. Do they match the properties of your source media?

    4. What are the precise video/audio properties of your source media?

    I have never encountered the "freezing" issue you describe.

    But I am also careful to adjust my project settings in Ulead VideoStudio so that they match the precise video/audio properties of my source clips.

    I have written a tutorial explaining how to capture video from a typical digital camcorder.

    The tutorial begins on the page at the following link:

    http://www.jonesgroup.net/videostudiodvcaptureone.htm

    If you read the tutorial, you will note my DV .avi video/audio properties are as follows:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    Microsoft AVI files
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order A
    DV Video Encoder -- type 1
    DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

    I then adjust the project properties to *match.*

    Then - FAST FORWARD and other controls work very, very well.
