  1. Hi, I have a PIV 1900 ghz, and am using three different encoders: CCE SP 2.61, LSX 3.5 and TMPGenc 2.0
My test file is 135 seconds.
    Using 2pass VBR 6000 - 8000.
    LSX 3.5 takes 25 minutes.
CCE SP takes 9 minutes (!!!)
TMPGENC takes 62 minutes (checking SSE-2 box)
Why do I get these so different results on the same machine????

  2. Well every program has different ways of encoding.
On that 135 second file, what is the codec? and format size?
So I can compare it to my dual PIII 1 GZ.
I only use LSX 3.5 (I mean I don't have any other encoder installed), and would like to do some comparisons.

  3. Hmm... over 1 hour to encode 2 minutes with TMPGenc... that just doesn't sound right. That means 30x encoding.

On my Athlon, in 2pass vbr, I get around 11x encoding time with TMPGEnc.

  4. My codec is Matrox RT2000 AVI.
It really is too much - 28:1 is not the encoding time I expected from a SSE-2 optimized program.
Any clue from other users on how to fix it?

  5. Have u tried version 2.0?

if so maybe try the other versions, because i can encode faster than that on P3 clocked @ 975

  6. Indeed, I am using 2.0 release, and have checked SSE-2 box...
Could anybody tell me if there are any chances that Tmpgenc is not "reading" correctly my setup?
